We’re developing a “persona” for a female artist as an “art experiment”. This is based on a TED Talk by artist Shea Hembrey (link to Shea’s Ted Talk)
Thie is the preliminary bio for the artist:
“Amelia Hart, a 28-year-old mixed media and collage artist from Birmingham, Alabama, is redefining how women’s stories are told through visual art. Entirely self-taught, Amelia’s work weaves together vibrant textures, found objects, vintage photographs, and bold colors to create intricate, unapologetic depictions of women as powerful, sensual, and autonomous beings.
A key element of her process is the use of original photographs—both of herself and her friends—which she integrates into her work. By altering and reimagining these images, she transforms personal moments into universal symbols of self-possession, identity, and liberation. This personal touch infuses her art with a sense of intimacy and authenticity, drawing viewers into the unique narratives she creates.
Her art celebrates femininity in all its complexity—breaking free from societal expectations to explore themes of empowerment, sensuality, and autonomy. Each piece offers a narrative: women claiming their agency, embracing their sexuality, and moving confidently through the world on their own terms.
Amelia draws inspiration from Southern roots, her grandmother’s heirlooms, and the beauty in everyday objects. She transforms these influences into striking pieces that are both deeply personal and universally resonant. Her work has been featured in local galleries and online exhibitions, sparking conversations about empowerment and the redefinition of womanhood in contemporary art.
When she’s not in her studio, Amelia can be found scouring flea markets for forgotten treasures or mentoring women interested in pursuing creative passions. Through her art, Amelia Hart isn’t just making a statement—she’s building a movement.”
What we want to do is shoot a model who will pose as the artist for several ongoing shoots. During each shoot, the model would pose as an artist and be photographed working on art pieces and in “lifestyle” scenarios. The photographs would then be used on social media and on a website to promote the work of that “artist”. There would multiple sessions over several months (shoots generally won’t last over 4 hours and most will be completed on weekdays during normal business hours, 9am-5pm) For these the model would do their own hair and makeup and wardrobe would be discussed beforehand for each session. In addition, we want the model photographed, and those photos used in the art pieces. (for the types of images see this link) This would be a paid gig and payment would be negotiable.
Below are some types of images that we want to shoot as the model portraying the artist:
